Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchase Officer to join our procurement team. The Purchase Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required for the company's operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that procurement activities align with company policies, budget constraints, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Supplier Management:

    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
    • Conduct regular supplier assessments and performance evaluations.
  2. Procurement Process:

    • Prepare purchase orders and send them to suppliers.
    • Review and analyze purchase requisitions and ensure they meet company requirements.
    • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  3. Negotiation:

    • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
    • Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to the company's budget and cost-saving objectives.
  4. Documentation and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and submit reports on purchasing activities and progress.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
    • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
  6. Market Analysis:

    • Keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, and new products.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Officer or in a similar role within the procurement department.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and supply chain management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).

Working Conditions:
